Vienna for the tenth year in a row named the best city to live
Vienna for the tenth year in a row topped the ranking of the most liveable cities in the world, Moscow is ranked 167 th place, according to the annual report of the British company Mercer.
Second place in the ranking took Zurich, Switzerland, third place was shared by three cities – Vancouver (Canada), Munich (Germany) and Auckland (New Zealand). The top ten also hit the German Dusseldorf and Frankfurt, Copenhagen, and the Swiss Geneva and Basel.
Total rating included 231 city, including Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The Russian capital was on 167th place between the Gabonese capital Libreville to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). Petersburg took the 174-th place between Kiev and the capital of Albania Tirana.
On the last places of a rating there is Khartoum (Sudan), Port-AU-Prince (Haiti), Sana’a (Yemen), Bangui (Central African Republic) and Baghdad (Iraq).
While the safest cities in the world, the experts acknowledged the Luxembourg, Helsinki and three Swiss cities – Basel, Bern and Zurich. Petersburg in this ranking was on the 197-th place, Moscow took the 200-th place.
Report of the international consulting company Mercer human resource based on the assessment of living conditions in cities around the world on 39 factors grouped in 10 categories. Are evaluated, in particular, the political and the social, economic, socio-cultural environment, availability of medical and health services, international schools, public services, terms and cost of holidays, the situation in the consumer market, development of transport and communal infrastructure, living conditions, natural environment, number of entertainment venues and facilities for leisure.
